Guidelines
BASIC INSTRUCTIONS
EDUCATIONAL KIDS GAMES has four free games, it is an application without instructions, verbal or written, is a totally visual and intuitive application.
To boost learning process, it is recommended to relatives and professionals that play together with intellectual disabled persons giving them verbal instructions. Thus, it is intended that the person with intellectual disabilities learn concepts, vocabulary, related professions, etc.
To play with these apps can improve cognitive skills like attention, memory etc., skills involved in quality of life dimensions like wellbeing and autonomy. Social relationships can also be affected positively through »playing together« with other persons, whether they are other intellectual disabled persons, relatives and/or professionals.
APP AWARENESS
Educational Kids Games can facilitate and improve the learning process by:
- Improving memory skills.
- Promoting and encouraging attention and concentration.
- Enhancing logic, for example, relating professions with objects and tools used for those professionals.
- Facilitating the knowledge of the environment.
- Improving psychomotor coordination, for example, in the maze game, you have to move the tablet, as if driving, to move the ball (not touching the screen).
- Learning numbers.

SUPPORTS:TIPS FOR RELATIVES AND PROFESSIONALS
The games are highly intuitive, there are no verbal instructions. The player will earn points surpassing levels in a given time. Although it is intuitive, to boost the learning process it is recommended to relatives and professionals to give verbal instructions to intellectual disabled persons, as explained in previous section.
The app and the games can be used without internet connection, but it is recommended to check from time to time if there are new versions or updated, that could allow a better gaming experience or even access to new free apps.
Intellectual disabled persons with intermittent need of support can play alone.
Intermittent support is equivalent to self or autonomous. Support “when necessary”. It is characterized by its episodic nature. Thus, the person does not always need (the) support (s), or requires only short-term support for transitions in the life cycle (worsening of disease). Intermittent supports may be provided with high or low intensity.
Intellectual disabled persons with generalized or widespread need support: the relatives or professionals must guide them and explain the guidelines to follow to promote the understanding of the exercises and to perform them correctly.
In addition to explaining the exercise, the relative and/or professional should guide them verbally to the improve the vision-spatial orientation: right, left, up, down, where the right answer may come about, where they can find the images, couples, etc.
Widespread support. Supports characterized by stability and high intensity; provided in different settings; with the possibility of be maintained throughout life. These widespread support often require more staff and more likely to support the extensive intrusion or limited.
PRIVACY ISSUES
By playing these games we see no need to develop privacy guidelines.
It would be convenient to control that the IDP does not play too many hours.
